Not because we aren't growing...but more so because none of the big schools are declining in enrollment. 6A is beyond packed. I think the cutoff goes up about 80-100 students.

In GHA alone you have schools like CE King and Galena Park who supposedly have over 2100 kids now. There's talk of all of the Spring Branch ISD schools having 6A numbers now.

We're growing...but the growth in urban schools are hard to keep up with.

Not sure where I want us to be but I do miss tougher district opponents.
Hmmmm Wolf.... Beside the one year when we lost two district games to Horn and Mesquite... those districts were not that good. I will give you that they might be better than the current districts we play in when we are in the next lower classification..... Now if the east texas district of the late 90's early 2000's... then I would agree....

              • A team that lost to us by 53 points at home, in our worst season under King, is gonna come into Lobo Stadium where we've yet to lose a home district game under King...and beat us? Lol ok.

I'm not sure if it's on their website, but it's on the Red Zone app. It's Sports Webxtra District 15-5A. Smh. She said if there was going to be an upset this week in that district, it could be that game..

You haven't even touched on the McKinneys and the Wylies and other North Dallas teams that are almost for sure going up (McKinney and Wylie definitely are). Prosper (freakin PROSPER) is on the verge on being 6A.

                        • Breaking news: Tyler Lee's Zach Hall is set to return. Out 4 to 5 weeks now that after surgery went well and injury was seen not to be as bad as first expected.

Horn always had good teams, Mesquite was on and off, NM actually beat us in 2010, Lee played us down to the wire on several occasions...and lastly Desoto was a national power.

Not saying that district was elite...but it wasn't exactly Pine Tree, MP, Greenville etc. Way tougher than the current 15-5A...way more tough. Definitely on the level of elite when compared to our district now.

The bottom of the barrow in that district was Lee/NM...in 15-5A it's Pine Tree/MP. That is one big gap.

                              • Not arguing but North was never good when they played us in district. We had some tough games with them, sure. They're one of those programs we just always seem to struggle against, no matter what they're like, especially when we played in Mesquite. That 2010 game we had absolutely no business losing though (same way we had no business beating them in 06 after they came back on us only for us to somehow go right back and win it).
