  • Prior to the DR game, I am stoked about the trip up 59 North to scrimmage Texas High. They’ve got some heavy talent coming back (7) on the defensive side of the ball from a stellar defensive unit that looks to test our offense. In addition, they have a pretty good QB (Brayson McHenry) returning (over 3,000 total yards of offense to go with 36 TD’s) that should provide a pretty good test for our db’s/secondary. This is good as we will need it heading into that BIG matchup at the Star. Now, we just need to steer away from senseless brawls. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yeah, I mentioned that a while back.

I think its a good scrimmage. It'll be a big test for our OL when we have the ball. When they have the ball, it'll pretty much be a big test for the entire defense.

DL because they have a massive OL, LBs because behind that massive OL is a deadly D1 RB....and secondary because of McHenry.

        • Again, why is it a mystery who the starting QB will be?

Dude, I am wondering the exact, same thing. In my honest opinion, I truly believe John King is teetering the fine line of trying to give the transfer playing time given that this is his last year of eligibility coupled with the issue of giving the same to his junior quarterback that has been through the obstacles already of proving himself worthy and capable to lead and then having to reprove himself to a Head Coach that he probably THOUGHT had his back and earned his loyalty. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit with an issue like this, if John King doesn’t attempt the ‘2-Quarterback System’. 🤷🏾‍♂️

            • It really isnt rocket science for me.

The QB that has the best tools, can run the playbook, can get the ball to these pass catchers most consistently and in stride at all 3 levels deserves to start.

I've never been a fan of capitalism/buddy systems/politics in sports....so I dont really care for any reason to start a player outside of what I posted above. The best player should play.

No 2 QB system is needed but I wouldnt be shocked if we saw it, especially the first week. There's nothing wrong with being a quality backup. That depth helps the team just as much as starting but thats a tough concept for people to understand these days.

I've had the same preference since spring and it hasn't changed. A player also tends to make their largest strides as talents whenever they make that sophomore to junior transition, so we'll see.

I really want to go into that Ryan game with all of this decided though.

Not being a fan of such behavior does not negate the fact that such behavior exists, regardless of how noble we’d like to assume or project one to be. If, you have or ever have the illustrious opportunity to have children, you will begin to realize that the ugly head of politics permeates even at the grass roots level.

                    Which also never should've happened.

Longview Footbsll is the only year in and year out top program in the schoool. If you want to get noticed and get a chance of getting a scholarship that’s the route to take. Basketball at best is a average program. It’s actually below average compared to Dallas or major city teams. Most of Longview’s wins come against small schools in early season tournaments(Tatum, cente, etc...)bottom line is a lots kids and people for that matter just do not want to work .
Football is no doubt the class of the sports at Longview High. Not denying that, but soccer...both girls and boys...are both up there as being a consistent winner. Tennis as well has performed extremely well in recent years.

Girls basketball has completely fallen off the map. But I do feel boys basketball has improved significantly since our current coach came in.

Collective thought has been proven to generate collective energy, which can be transferred into power. I am inclined to believe that this group of young men do have a chance to win it all. I would like to encourage us all (coaches, players and fans alike) to side with optimism. One goal, one mindset...pulling together in a collective effort to achieve that which is achievable. Every team we will face, just like us, will too have an Achilles heel. It’s up to our coaching staff to exploit their weaknesses to a higher degree than their ability to exploit ours. Somebody’s going to win this damn thing, why not us. I say WE go forward with the mindset of taking no prisoners.
Stop trying to correct people to much man with your foolishness. The man can see what he feels may happen to the highest degree, just like yall always have a knowledge that u gonna stomp Tyler teams. Aint no correction for anybody then,So don't correct that guy,Lobos99. He know what he is saying,he see teams every year and knows what a dangerous team looks like and does not look like. I can tell alot about you, trying to correct people and have them think your way. Lmao u better get on somewhere with that mindset, boy. If That man don't think that Longview team is gonna be on any kind of state level in 2021?,Then dammit, its a free country ,the man has a right at his opinion, especially when he see them and their products every year to recognize difference!!!!!!🤬 Now u leave that guy alone. He is a grown damn man with an opinion. You have no right to put yours above his. Who the hell you think you are ? Nobody but a dog, trying to wonder out of his place. Respect the man's opinion. You got yours.

This should include the D-line on 2nd and 3rd and longs and other crucial situations as deemed necessary.

Now see? Here u go again. I can't scroll without noticing your foolishness!!! Now them Longview coaches know where to put players to know where to best utilize their talents to best help the team. They don't need no individual who possibly just siiting in front of the computer watching porn all day talking about how they should use their team. This is about X'S & O'S not lotion & blue chews. Now i don't mean no harm, sir but I speak cause Longview has a good history of putting a satisfying team together. Maybe not win it all but do better than what some expect. Now u respect them. Coach king has years of experience and success. He don't need no undesirable double feature fantasy situation telling him what to do.

Longview also has a good history of sending TISD home with a L.
