Yeah. No other way to put it, Jesuit executed a perfect gameplan and caught us slipping on the right night.
Good luck to you all. I havent been very vocal about it but I think Ewers throws the prettiest ball in the state.
Early look at Longview 2020 coming later.

One man’s observation. We came out flat and stayed that way most of the game maybe thinking that we could just hit the go button at any time and pull off the victory. We were out coached and out played. This is definitely not the way we wanted the season to end but most time envy what we have year after year.Comment

We have really had an impressive past few years as lobo faithful. broken a lot of records, STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, longest win streak. We have nothing to hang our heads about. The Lobos have given us so much excitement . Lets Lobo up and get ready for next season which is very promising. We bleed green regardless. Not to mention we are the most read thread on 6A surpassed a 1000 pages and over half a million views and over 15000 posts. We are a proud lobo nation and we will be missed in 6A. Lobo up.👍 2Comment

Here's the list of players that either started or saw significant PT (I combine them both since LV rotates and has alot of depth yearly):
Offense
SR RB Kaden Meredith (will be 3 year varsity vet)
SR FB Markevion Haynes (will be 3 year varsity vet)
Soph WR Jalen Hale
SR WR CJ Hopkins
SR TE Austin Pencheon
SR TE Justin Beltran
SR LG Tavion Sterling
Summary: Solid core of players returning here. We again will have to replace 4 (LT, C, RG and RT) on the OL. But no worries, 2022 has solid guys that will fill 3 of those 4 holes. Connor Cox and Jatavian Bush were both on varsity this year as sophomores but both were injured. Da'Qwaylen Reed is the other who spent his time on JV this year. Cox would have been our starting LT this year if not for injury suffered before the season started. So safe to say he will assume that role in 2020 and 2021. Reed will more than likely land his 6'1.5 330 frame at RG. Bush could end up at either C or RT. He has played all over the OL throughout his career in Longview. The OL will be fine.
The big and obvious question mark will be at QB, where Longview will have a QB not named Haynes King taking the snaps for the first time since Week 4 of 2017. The Landyn Grant (6'2 180) era may be under way. Grant is a promising sophomore to be. But as I said earlier this month in a post, I'll be politically correct because I remember how the beginning of 2017 went with a ridiculous QB rotation.
So, we'll have a 4 man race for QB in the spring.
1. 2023 Landyn Grant (6'2 180) - lot of upside here, standout baseball player, nice on the track and basketball court as well. Son of former Lobo QB and Lobo great Quincy Grant
2. 2021 Otarvio Buchanan (5'10 150) - our current backup QB, only one out of the four with varsity reps. Experience is a plus.
3. 2022 Rodney Moore (6'0 230) - one half of the big framed JV tandem
4. 2022 Isaiah Harris (6'0 220) - other half of the tandem
Other move ups to watch:
2022 RB Isailynn Taylor
2022 WR Dekalen Taylor
2022 TE Victor Bush
Defense
SR DL Joe Jones (will be 3 year varsity vet)
SR LB Laquolon Hale (will be 3 year varsity vet)
SR DS/SS Kybo Jackson-Jamerson (will be 3 year varsity vet)
SR S Shannon Jackson
SR S Tyree Hale
Summary: Some big names graduate from a memorable 2019 defense. Robert Pierce, Goram-Welch, Beltran, Tyshawn Taylor, Malik Cannon, Dakirin Buchanan...but like I said coming into 2019 after Lister and co graduated from that 2018 defense. Panicking would be a mistake. This 2020 defense will still be good. We will lose size at the DE positions with Goram-Welch and Beltran graduating. But instead of power DE's like Goram-Welch and Beltran were, in comes your more traditional athletic Longview DE's in the 2022 class in DK Stanford (6'2 210) and Jesse Fairchild (6'1 215) to fill the holes. Tyshawn graduates, in comes 2022 Devean Isaac (5'10.5 210) who got alot of varsity PT this year as a sophomore. I am pretty confident in our front 7 again for 2020. The biggest question marks will be the CB positions. 2021 Dylan Davis was pushing for the CB2 spot before his season ending injury during twoadays.
Other move ups to watch:
2023 OLB JJ Rougley
2022 CB Demetri Wallace
2022 S D'marius Hunter
Antonio Onofre and Powell return at the K position. Longview will be Longview in 2020. Just have to keep working, stay focused and not let a random loss to Jesuit derail the train.
Although the finale was a bad performance, the Haynes King era was a fun one. Only two losses by a combine 3 points in a 40 game span. Got to witness a state title, lot of records broken. Jimbo is getting a hard worker and proven winner for sure. Hope he does well next level.
Lastly, you can also expect to see the best 9th grade team since 2015 for Longview in 2020.

It is promising, regardless of which class we end up in but especially if we drop as anticipated.

I just hope the rumors are true we are opening up the season against you guys. Temple is staying 6A, so it looks more and more likely.Comment

I'm all for moving 32 back to RB. We need a steady back up for Meredith. Need to get 2 QB's up to speed running the Offense. Not just starter running the whole playbook and the back up basically running jv plays. Other than that...I'm good with everythg. But them Hale boys are about to be problems...all three of them for 6a or 5a👍 1Comment

People don't know it but Shannon is a damn good RB. Just so happens he is in the same grade as Meredith + moved to safety for the better of the team. Very similar to the Jephaniah Lister situation. That's why I wanted to see him returning punts this year but we never saw it. One thing we missed this year was a punt returner who could give us good field position. Hope they see Jackson's talents next year.
I think they keep him at safety with Isailynn Taylor coming up the ranks though.Last edited by WP4L™; 11-25-2019, 07:44 PM.Comment

Tyree and Laquolon on defense, Jalen will finally move into the WR1 role. I look forward to seeing these dudes in expanded role.
Between Jalen Hale, CJ Hopkins, Austin Pencheon and JV move up Dekalon Taylor...I promise you drops will decrease drastically next year. The passing game will depend almost solely on QB play.👍 1Comment
