I mean, I could probably coach the Westlake golf team and they'd still win, lol. Duncanville Football is only good because of Samples. Before he got there, they weren't really doing much, off the top of my head, in football.

BREAKING: Westlake holds a narrow 2-shot lead after day one after 4/5 golfers shoot over par. Coach Nokes is squarely on the hot seat now. Rumor has it that if the four players do not shoot under par tomorrow, they will have to hand in the keys to the Porsche and drive the three year old family Range Rover for 48 whole hours.

Tomorrow we see what this team is made of. Several teams still in the mix with Westlake on top at 2-under.
Houston Memorial and SA Johnson are at even par.
          The Woodlands is at 2-over.
          LT is at 5-over.

A bunch of teams not from Region 4 fill out the last 7 spots.
Deep playoff runs are, in part, wars of attrition.

What a tremendous performance by the LT Cavalier golfers today who shot 3 under and sit in the clubhouse awaiting their fate at 2 over for the tournament. Westlake is still on the course at 1 over with a 1 shot lead over the Cavs, and Houston Memorial and SA Johnson are still on the course in 3rd and 4th at 8 over and 11 over respectively. Plano West and TWHS have finished at 14 and 16 over and look to close the year in 5th and 6th place.

However this ends up between the top 2 teams, if the 3 qualifiers from Region 4 go 1-2-4 in the overall standings, we can at least say that Region 4 has speed. Clubhead speed.

Our boys missed state this year for the first time in a long time (ever?). As long as Westlake continues to have 8+ kids who consistently shoot under par I don’t know if anyone will beat them. We’ve been the closest recently, we might be close next year but I think in 2 years will be our best shot at someone beating them finally because our best golfers are Sophomores.
It was not 20+, but all is right in the world.

Villanueva with the heavy carry. Congrats on the dub again.

A tremendous performance by the super sophomore to close out the tournament in the final group. Only needed two pars to win both the individual and team titles, and he closed with birdie birdie like a boss. The historic Callan Nokes era comes to a close on a happy note on the links, much like the Todd Dodge era ended for us on the gridiron. 3 of the 5 young men return next year, including the new individual state champion.

And if they group Vandy with LT and the Chaps in the next realignment, it will be an incredibly brutal district for golf.

Did they play that tourney at Lions Muni...all 5800 yds of the UIL Championed course? Surely UIL went to Barton Creek...

Legacy Hills up in Georgetown. BCCC would kinda give the Chaps a home course advantage.

Lol, Is that Westlake’s home course?

I know Vandys is UTGC even though they never play tournaments there.

                          Whats LTs?

I have a client that is a member at Flint Rock Falls in Lakeway. I've seen a few golfin' Cavs there over the years...but, that might be Westlake attendance zone...

I propose the relocation of the Lakeway golf ball water tower to 360 and Bee Caves.

Idk what our official home course is but the kids who make up our golf teams have pretty much all played MANY rounds at BCCC, or LCCC or ACC...
