Not sure. Not even a shot to slip into State as the wild card being in 4th place.

Region 2 Champs are The Woodlands and Region 3 Atascocita…

Atascocita has a very strong team….

My Gators had a good showing placing fourth in Region 3 with Marquise Johnson winning the 200 in 20.95 and finishing second in the 100 at 10.29. He also took first in the long jump at 24-8.5.
Our girls swept the 4x100 relay as well as the 4x200 relay and ginished 5th as a team.😁😁😁

On paper I think Dville has to be the favorite now, even with only the 4x1 4x2 and the two 100s at state. All it takes is to have two highly ranked relays and two high placing individuals to win. They can get a max of 58 points, but I think if anyone is over 45, they win for the boys.

            Dville is Q1 in 4x2 Q2 in 4x1 and Q1 and Q3 in the 100m.

Woods has the most Qs I think of anyone, but some of those won’t place as highly statewide. Maybe they’ll be able to get enough points but my guess is not.

Ridge point has the next highest chance after Woods I think of beating Dville but it would take a great performance, they have two top 3 relays, a 10.28 100 Q, plus a good 110 hurdle and pole vault.

            KF is donezo now.

DVille would be state champ in track every year if they had a good track coach that could develop kids, rather that just say, "on your mark, get set, go!" Unfortunately, they cannot score in jumps, throws or long distance- and they actually have the type of kids that can score in all those events. It goes without saying that DVille has sprinters out the wahzoo- run hard, turn left guys. But, that depth could convert to jumping, hurdling and even middle distance. DVille ISD is also a predominantly hispanic enrollment- there are definitely kids there that could be "coached" to run cross country in the fall, carrying over into the spring season in the 1600 and 3200.

Klein Forest and Ridge Point were the Q1 and Q2 in the 4x100. Dville was down there with the same qualifying time as some team from Region 4.
Deep playoff runs are, in part, wars of attrition.

This is all BS. The 3 schools with the best chance to win state at track this year and last were all in the same region. There are only 2 spots to go to state. Also the track program has recently hit a uptick because of the football talent. The track edge typically goes to Desoto.

Duncanville track is where North Shore track was 10 years ago when we had the best relay teams in the state/nation and were winning track championships. Having a good well rounded track program and coach can get it but it's a lot easier when you have kids winning/placing in field events (shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump)

We can only assume that Duncanville has dropped off big time. Anyone from the South Dallas Speedway should be several seconds ahead of an Austin area team. Has the speed all enrolled at South Oak Cliff?

Klein Forest missed quail in arguably their best relay, and thanks to their 4x4 winning after barely qualifying in the WC, they still ended up winning by a fair margin.

                          That Watkins kid hard carried.

Congrats to The Woodlands 4x200 team for getting Bronze at the state meet!

Their time was good for the 16th best time ever run in high school nationally. So they now hold the 1st, 3rd, and 16th fastest times ever ran in that event.

An even bigger congrats to the TWHS 4x400 relay team for also getting Bronze but beating cross town rival
TW College Park by 00.03 seconds to medal at State.

The Woodlands finishes 5th overall as a team.

Which one of the 2 schools was the "9th seed" since Klein Forest was also region 2?

College Park beat The Woodlands in Regional so maybe Woodz.

Dramatic finish to win a medal over your rival who had previously bested you.
