So no excuses when both teams are up 49-0 at half on opponents lol

My "guess" would be because he hasn't been able to attend recent scouting camps due to rehab?!?!?

I might not state it quite as strongly as Hook'em22 does above, lol, but the selection bias for rankings very often doesn't really correspond to what's happening during games on the field. Like it or not, those ratings don't really care that he was the QB on a state championship team in 2021.

That to me was the big revelation when Nic Anderson (now at OU) came through Katy in 2018-2021. He was already rated a 4-star WR going into his junior, a top-300 selection....and we had hardly even seen him his sophomore year (as a varsity playoff call up)....AND IN A KATY FOOTBALL OFFENSE. Highest ranked WR in the history of the program! So it was painfully obvious that his rating was coming from somewhere else....camps, 7-on-7 leagues, etc. It pays to know how the recruiting system works, especially when your 2 older brothers already navigated that on the way to college. That's really how you get on these lists.

Recruiting really is a game all within itself....and has very little correlation with programs, program success, or college outcomes.

        • It's been real quite on few of the home fronts. Spring football is over for most schools but we've heard nothing from Westlake, Lake Travis, Atascocita, Katy, SLC. Anyone care to fill us in

...Lake Travis will bring back 13 starters on offense and 9 on defense for the 10th straight year...best O-Line they've ever had and the defense has the chance to be on par with the 2016 team...

Any noticeable changes coming out of spring for NS?

Only thing I can see is that we have an adequate backup QB so we won't have to move a WR to QB this year it KB isn't 100%.

Offense is going to be SUPER explosive, two 6'3 D1 corners going to be hard to throw on

Was KB cleared for contact this spring?

There will likely be no intel on Atascocita until the Fall. All I really know is that a few class of 2027 kids (incoming freshman) have seemingly opted for Summer Creek over Atascocita. I don’t really think Stump cares to participate in recruiting, whereas Harrison (SC Head Coach) is all about recruiting players at the middle school level and his presence in their lives and on Twitter.

I’m expecting Summer Creek to rise above Atascocita this year, and if not this year, certainly the next couple of years as this 2027 class has some of the most gifted athletes to come through Humble ISD.

But what is Cita’s ‘26 class like as they’re more likely to make an impact this year on varsity over some of the talented ‘27 kids. (In numbers if anything else)

I don’t know anything about the ‘26 class but I know the ‘25 class is pretty solid. Not sure how they compare to the likes of North Shore but they should be neck and neck or marginally worse than NS’ class.

As far as I know, the best ‘25 class player at Atascocita is Tory Blaylock (https://247sports.com/player/tory-blaylock-46117015/).
