Whatever man, the non flagship colleges in TX have held their own:UofH, BU and TCU have repped well /since VY.

so a team that finishes top 5-10 is not relevant to you?

Not unless they are a perennial top 5-10 over several years...like Bama...Georgia...Clemson...Ohio State...LSU...and OU (up until last year). Outlier years like the one's Baylor, Houston and TCU have had aren't sustainable...Cincinnati has been more of a juggernaut than Baylor and Houston. FYI- OU maybe the next to drop out of "juggernaut" level...

Outlier years? BU (2) and TCU (4) have combined for 6 AP top 10 finishes since 2014. For comparison, Clemson and UGA in the same period have 6 top 10 finishes each. TCU in particular has been very respectable and relevant

        • How can anyone expect UofH to compete with Texas and A&M. They are flagship schools have unlimited resources. Bama,Georgia,Clemson,Ohio State,LSU and OU are also flagship schools so we need to be comparing apples to apples here. I think Baylor, TCU and UofH have been good teams for the state. I just find the fact that Texas and A&M jumping to go to SEC is laughable since they have struggled in the Big 12. I will say NIL money will now give them the advantage. We will have to see how they use it.

OUTLIERS = the Bears and the Frogs. They have 1, and I repeat 1 appearance in the top 4...and that ended awfully at 65-7...Name another team that has lost 65-7 in the last 10 years not named Houston getting FLOGGED by a service academy, Army, by the tune of 70-14 in 2018. And let's not even bring up the GUTLESS performance by the BU in Fort Worth during the Bowl season vs. Air Force, seriously, donkey-punched by Air Force all afternoon with NO answer- NO ANSWER to the USAF Academy. Not even teams like SFA and Georgia Southern playing the big dogs have lost like that...P-I-T-I-F-U-L

..Teams like Notre Dame and Michigan "hide" behind history, but get eliminated by "outliers"...I'll give you that, but...
Bottom line is when teams like TCU make the final 4 and championship game, they get exposed...shamed, if you will. Outliers CANNOT compete on a timely basis. And YES, BAYLOR, HOUSTON and TCU are OUTLIERS...

As Cat Glover said in Alphabet Street..."Now run and tell ya' momma bout that..."

The bears and frogs have more than 1 top 4 finish. TCU was #2 in ‘10. Honestly, I stopped reading after that. Your argument was there were no relevant TX teams since VYs Horns. That’s false.

2010 TCU was mentioned- as was 2014 TCU above in post #118
Other than TCU's story book season this year and the 13-0 season in 2010 (and maybe the 2014 season), no other Texas D-1 university has been relevant since VY won the natty in '05 and when Colt led the Horns vs. Bama in 2010....23 years of history of Texas D-1 colleges doesn't have a lot to show...)
                ...just sayin'...again...

You’re not sayin anything, I quoted YOU. You stated there were no relevant Tx colleges since VY and that there was only 1 top 4 finish between TCU and BU.
not my fault you can’t keep track of the 💩 that you type

                  • TCU Top 10 AP Poll Finishes
                    2022: #2
                    2017: #9
                    2015: #7
                    2014: #3
                    2010: #2
                    2009: #6
                    2008: #7

They've got two other top 20 finishes in that time...relevancy is subjective but man seven top ten finishes in the last 15 years is pretty salty if you ask me

Relevancy IS subjective...as are top10 rankings. My relevancy criteria say a team not only has to win it's conference, but DOMINATE it year in and year out (see OU in the Big 12. CU has ZERO outright Big 12 titles). My subjectivity also says programs must CONSISTENTLY play for National Championships- THE measuring stick. Nobody remembers who the #5-10-122nd ranked team in the country was at the end of the year unless you either went to school there- or you look it up in the Encyclopedia.

Until then we will continue to see out of state programs dominate the National Championship landscape, most with Texas players that chose to go to out of state programs that ARE relevant. Bottom line, whenever Texas Universities consistently make the CFP (ala Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and even Oklahoma), they'll become relevant again...

On a side bar, I do have a MaTURA hat that says, "Make Texas Universities Relative Again"

                      • Does Galena park ISD have different rules for players transferring school than other ISD's?
I saw a player last week on Twittter say the same line that a college player would give if leaving a college or entering a portal.
Something like "after careful consideration I am leaving CE King and going to play Football at North Shore"
                        How is this allowed?

The schools who do what it takes to compete for state get players moving in annually. Always have and always will. Where there's a will there's a way. Schools who don't aren't realistic contenders.

The player in question had previously been a student at North Shore. He went to King because his dad is a coach for King.

Word is that his dad may be coming back to North Shore to coach again

His family has always resided in North Shore. He just followed his dad to C.E when he became a coach there.
