          Midland:

          El Paso Montwood
          Lubbock Coronado
          Amarillo
          Lubbock Monterey
          El Paso Andress

They were meant to play Lubbock Cooper instead of Andress, but the Lubbock/Amarillo schools are now a 7 team district with Abilene being pushed into there. Apparently they'll scrimmage instead.

Sure San Angelo and Abilene wanted to play. Didn't work out. The non-district opponents aren't any worse than usual. I like it. For some of the teams on the schedule it's "take what you can get." If they hadn't have landed Belton, they'd have been playing Flour Bluff neutral in San Antonio (I despise neutral games because you end up with four home games one of the two seasons). I'd pack it with all three Abilene teams every year if possible to help with travel since there's no crosstown team like almost every other 6A team gets.

Cooper dropping, Shoemaker dropping, etc. doesn't make them worse in 22 than they were in 21. Playing 6A powerhouses right now isn't going to help them. If they get close to where they were 4-5 years ago then playing great 6A teams will be helpful.

There are a lot of things that have them where they are now, a big one being SOME weaker classes over the past five years (A few years ago some were looking at what will now be next year's senior class as a point they were expecting to POTENTIALLY be back up to 2016 levels, but they're far away from that right now). Things go in cycles in that regard except for a very small number of programs. But there are a lot of other little things too, some of it out of anyone's control. Hopefully that special formula they had going for awhile coalesces again.

Clemens is headed to West Texas again? Well, that’s interesting. Hope there are more West Texas vs San Antonio matchups. Those are interesting.

Actually i think this year they're headed to you? At least from what i read. Maybe next year you'll be headed to Ratliff, depending on how things were worked out.

The Reese’s Senior bowl practice wrapped up on Friday in Mobile, Alabama, and former Abilene High running back Abram Smith has been turning some heads.

Smith was impressive enough to be voted his team’s the top running back by the linebackers and defensive backs.

“There’s a lot of NFL talent out there, and you get to work against that. A lot of NFL scouts out there looking at you and following you around. I extremely excited for the opportunity to go out there and showcase my skills against some of the top seniors. Coming from not being known to getting a Senior Bowl invite is kind of, to me, it’s a little insane,” said Abram Smith

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is Saturday at 1:30pm in Mobile, Alabama.
