Most everyone last season predicted 3-1 in favor of 4-6A, but it ended up 2-2.

SLC and Trinity are obviously heavy favorites.

What about the other two games?

Eaton (second best team in our District, pretty solid)
BN ( but Weatherford might pull it off)
      ET (duh)
      Carroll (double duh)

That Keller/ET projection just completely invalidates them.

Massey computer has Trinity winning 35-27, which is….also weird. Must be some quirk in the numbers for the computers to be that out of whack. Trinity is going to smoke Keller.

Eaton will beat Boswell, and I think Byron Nelson gets past Weatherford but I wouldn’t bet much on it. SLC will destroy North Crowley.

Yes. I was a little surprised. Just a little though, having seen their projections for many years.

I don’t look at CalPreps much. Massey’s matchup tool usually gets in the ballpark in my experience. Their other projections in bi-district seem reasonable. I just can’t see Keller staying close with Trinity. Like I said on the other thread, I’d expect something more like 42-7.

Weatherford has a pretty good coach, Aubrey Sims, who came over from Iowa Park. No championships, but in 17 seasons, only two losing seasons and has had some deep playoff runs. Probably the reason they beat NoCro, when we all expected NoCro to beat them solidly.

I can’t figure out Byron. Based on how they played against us, I’d say they were one of the worst teams in the district, but they put things together and did pretty well against the rest of their schedule. That said, I don’t have much faith in them (but they’re better than Keller). Eaton is a pretty solid team— I think they’ll win a game or two.

Byron looked good the first 1-2 possessions against Southlake. But then again so did Keller.

I’m surprised by the computer matchups. I’d expect something like 42-10 for Trinity. I think part of it has to do with Trinity only beating district opponents by 30-40 instead of 60-70 because of taking their starters out.

I mean, I guess. But I thought the computer models looked at anything more than 30 points or so as noise. Regardless, there is no way Keller stays within 10 points of y’all. And by 10 points I mean 35.

If Weatherford has an above average running game and can play good pass defense then Byron will have trouble. Otherwise, BN for the win and get 4-6A to 3-1.
