  • Atascocita (7-1) vs NS (8-1) Fri., 10/29 7 pm @ GPISD

District 21 Championship... NS coming off a lackluster offensive performance vs. King. Can they bounce back against a better D in Cita? Will NS run up the middle 20 times once again and try and control clock? Or will we try and dazzle them and play a rotating QB system that makes no sense? I think that NS puts together an offense that we will see throughout a hopeful long playoff run. The talent is there.
Now the NS D is clicking on all cylinders. The super Soph for Cita is going to be pressured like he hasn't been pressured all season.

One upside for NS during the KIng game is we found a punter. He plays CB but can boot it 35 to 40 yards in the air with plenty of hang time...

All sarcasm aside, this should be a good game against 2 highly ranked teams. What say you??????

Both have had this game circled on their schedules from the moment schedules came. It's the premier matchup of district 21-6A. Hopefully we throw the vanilla playbook out the window and come with the whole enchilada. Let Bailey and Mitchell throw the dang ball. And let Johnson and Owens eat all day.

      NS wins by 17...

The Eagles make a game of it for the first half then the NS defense shuts down the run and make the Eagles one dimensional stimmying the offense

I don't see Atascocita being able to play good enough defense long enough to be able to shut down the Mustangs

If Harris, Davis, Andersen, Flagg shut down the Atascocita receivers it's going to be a long day for the Eagles and could be a 30+ point victory.

Atascocita is going to have to play better defense in this game than they did against the North Texas Eagles to get the victory here

Buttttt....just like with King all the kids for Atascocita have been playing with and against our kids since little league. If there is any team in the state Atascocita wants to beat it's North Shore

If the Eagles pull off the upset I would be shocked but at the same time I wouldn't be

It depends on what NS offense shows up. If it’s last weeks offense then Cita can pull off the win. I am having a hard time picking because NS has been so inconsistent that I don’t know what we are getting.

If Cita original QB was playing then this would possibly be a win for Cita. But with a soph qb playing in his first huge game against this defense, its going to be all kinds of lessons being learned for him in this game. He will struggle mightily, costing cita's defense to be in the field forever and NS will wear them down with their run game. NS wins 34-17.

If QB1 was still playing, I’d confidently pick The A. Now I truly am torn. Even with a sophomore QB, The A is not 1-dimensional. NS play like they did on O against King and it’s a wrap. To win this game you have to be balanced on O. Haven’t seen a consistent enough passing game from NS. Facing that NS blitz is something else though. Objectively this game can go either way. The homer in me is picking The A

NS doesn't have to be explosive just consistent. Atascocita's issue is what it's always been...they don't play consistent enough defense

Guyer exposed some holes in the secondary that I hope have been cleaned up. The Guyer O is better than NS but NS defense is by far the best QB2 will see all year including future playoff opponents

Atascocita defense is better than it’s been. So we’re about to see just how much. Honestly more worried about how QB2 and the OL deal with the pressure they’re about to see.

It's just something about a 3-4 defense that doesn't sit right with me lol (unless you're Katy)

If OB2 is rattled it's going to be a long frustrating game for the Eagles

Maybe it's the chemicals coming off of the ship channel ⛽ lol

I guess it depends on who people think is the favorite or the higher ranked team

I’ve watched both teams play and I’ve decided Cita has the better offense and NS the better defense. I give NS the overall edge as I think their defense will dominate. If Sessions were playing, Cita would have a good chance. NS offense looked very lethargic against King. If Cita would play great defense they could pull it off.

Sessions would be the deciding factor, if he were playing, cita would be the favorites.

The problem with a 4-3 as you probably know is that some schools just don't have the right kids for it and those that are end up oline. I don't know about Cheeto, but somebody like SLC has more linebacker type kids than DL type kids, and you can get pressure by alternating that 4th kid going in. Or 5th. I DO think a 3-man rush against a good to elite QB with a good to excellent Oline is a kiss of death. Some schools I wonder why they do a 3-4. ET should have the beef to put 4 down every down.
