well I never thought we would go far this year because of certain offensive issues and our O-line coach retiring. We have a decent defense but our team has been handicapped by the head coach being unable to trust any coaches calling to call the plays. In effect we have had no OC for 3-4 years and the last one we had is doing great at Crosby.
Big Boy football needs coaches and/or a coaching staff that combines/works together to be consistent and produce results. We have been unable to find that mix with an 11-12 year attempt by our head coach.
All in all the loss to Clear Creek who owns 1 win this year(I think one win) is probably the further evidence of how much slippage in coaching has occurred. With one more game remaining till playoffs we look as weak as water but will get to play Shadow Creek in bi-district. I believe they are ranked 12-14 in state but let me explain what will happen in that game…lol
Actually the Gators have a really good chance of winning because they play these type of games without pressure and need no instructions…lol The coaching staff will call two or three plays with 4 variations because it’s simple enough. It will simply get down to a talent challenge by Dickinson..lol They will lose a close one for sure.

You are right that Dickinson doesn’t seem to have a talent problem. Seems like there are 4-star recruits coming out of there every year.

Tough place to be because Snelson has always struck me as a good head coach. They just have never been able to get over that hump to a break through year where they really challenged for the region, when North Shore was maybe vulnerable.

That Dickinson loss was head scratcher last night. I thought you guys might be headed toward an interesting 3-way tiebreaker with Falls and Springs at 5-1…but now it looks like Falls on their way to the district title with a win next week.

Yea… You would think after last week started the second string for the first half and it was tied 7-7. Then Friday the coach decides to lose the game to a one win team.
Not sure if the coach has lost his mind but it is starting to look like it…(No LOL on that)

Coaching change is around three corners because it appears he will make things interesting.

Yes it’s in his lap and being the gentleman he is he would agree.
To understand how difficult it is to come forward as a fan etc.. and speak about the coaching in a negative way is not easy because the coach is a great human being. We all agree that there is and has been a problem with the coaching.
For example keeping coaches is difficult. Why? The explanation id not totally clear but it has to do with control issues. The head coach has to call the plays and therefore we have not had an OC for years.
Choking on games is a real consistent happening especially when Clear Springsnid concerned. Leading 28-0 in the fourth quarter and losing 28-35. That’s just one of many many examples.
People are tired of these things that are now predictible. It’s as if every coach knows exactly what to do to beat this team regardless of our talent being way above in most cases.

Brazoswood is in the play-offs for the first time since 2012!!! The Bucs beat Clear Lake 52-24 Thursday night. Brazoswood will play Shadow Creek in the first game of the play-offs next Thursday at Freedom Field in Iowa Colony.
BTW Last weekend the Brazoswood boys water polo team won the inaugural UIL state championship!! In the semifinal game the Bucs beat Southlake Carroll 16-14. In the title game they beat Boerne Championship 19-10!! Go Bucs Go!!!

Well I watched Dickinson scrimmage today and uhmmm I can honestly say they are LOADED.

Rare or rather a first time I have come out about them this early… The QB is a third year player part or most of each season or RB. He is at 200lbs and ran for 80 yard TD easy. He will gain weight and strength before the season starts…
Saw the good sized line on the second string…😳

Honestly I can’t predict anything but the loads of talented players are there and the serious business in there.
Gonna be interesting and that 6’5 wide receiver at 210-225 lbs… with sprinting speed looks like a starter for a D-1 team but I don’t yet know who this guy is…😳😳😳

Have all the LaMarque and Texas City kids finally made their way to Dickinson? I've been wondering for years how come the gators aren't a little better than they have been. Serious potential for them to take off it if all comes together IMO

Dickinson played NS very well last year but NS proved the caliber team for sure. In any case We had the lead in the second half and lost by 9 points. In the same breath we lost to the worst team in our district to close out the regular season and give the district title away…lol😳😳😳

On your question about LaMarque.. They are a 4A school now and it may be that Hitchcock where my daughter teaches also benefits like Dickinson. Hitchcock won the Basketball 3A title this year and finished 2nd in state in track. They lost to Franklin in round two of football and Franklin won state.. They are the movement team in Galveston County…LaMarque is closer to Hitchcock and and a 3A school is such a fresh of clean air compared to 6A.
Dickinson has a lot of talent and as I’ve always said …. You have to know how to coach talent like the tight ends at Texas AM as well as many other great college players…☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

The best running back in Galveston County is in Texas City. He wanted to come to Dickinson but we have 4 good RB’s and he would probably not get much playing time. He was talked out of it and his family is in Dickinson/Texas City so it would be really legal as he has the proof etc.. but was advised against that .
