    • Good luck Bobcats and Eagles. I'm glad you don't have to drive to the Metromess this year, except in the playoffs.

What? No good luck wishes to the Rebels?

And they still have to drive in the “Metromess”.

Grand Prairie this year or next. On the non-district schedule, we got them, Tascosa, and Vista Ridge.

            • Picks Rules

The ultimate winner will be the person with the most correct games selected. It does not go by best percentage.

The reason for this is simple. It rewards long term participation. It is also easier to hit higher percentages just in district play. Once district play begins, seeing several 4-0 weeks is not uncommon. Seeing 8-0 weeks in non-district is much more difficult. We will have some, but not a lot. Often the ultimate winner comes out of the gate screaming, builds up a sizable lead and is not caught, unless they forget to pick a week.

Forgetting to select your games in a particular week will most likely eliminate you from having a real chance of winning. Forgetting is devastating. I would suggest, if you are going to be extremely busy one week, or out of town or whatever, go ahead and make your selections for the following week early. The games to select are simply each district teams games.

When making a pick, it needs to clearly indicate who you are picking. You can use the bolding method... For example Trinity at Colleyville Heritage, which indicates you are picking Trinity. The underline method... For example Trinity at Colleyville Heritage, which indicates you are picking Trinity. Or, list only the teams you believe will win (winning teams). Your selections need to be crystal clear to avoid confusion or controversy. We all like to say funny things in our picks, which is fine, but we need to be able to tell for certain what teams are the picks. Do not assume everyone will get your meaning and leave it to their interpretation.

Please review your post after you have posted. I have had to remind people of this many times in the past. Whatever method you use to make your selections, it is a good idea to double check your post after posting to make sure it is correct. Sometimes people forget a game. Each participant must specify their picks. Saying you will take the opposite selections of <specific poster> will not be counted. You need to name the teams on a post, period.

All posts are time stamped. Picks will only be counted if made prior to the game. If a game is on Thursday and you give your Picks on Friday morning, obviously the Thursday picks won't count. If a pick post has been has been edited, the edit date and time will specify the exact moment that occurred. If the edit time reflects that the edit occurred after the first district game of the week kicked off, then all picks by that user for that week will be thrown out. If this happens to the same user more than once in a season, that user will be disqualified for entire season, and not be eligible for the "fabulous prizes".

If it is relatively close after the regular season, we will continue picking games once the playoffs begin. However, there won't be much opportunity to close ground. It is likely only two to three people will still be in it, and separated by only a game or two. I will begin announcing those who are officially eliminated towards the end of the season. It is quite possible, there will be a tie for 1st place toward the end. If all district teams are eliminated from the playoffs, a selection of five games from the 6A-D1 and 6A-D2 brackets the next week will be made. If need be, we will take it all the way to the State Finals, in which ALL games must be predicted! As a tiebreaker, the 6A games must be predicted by score. Whoever predicts closer the scoring spread of those games combined will be declared the winner. If both have a spread of 14 (two seven point games) for example, then whoever is closer in total points scored for both games combined wins. In the unlikely event, there is still a tie, we will move on to other methods to break the tie, unless the two agree to a tie and being considered co-champions.

Thank you and good luck to all those who participate!
