  • Wk 7: San Angelo Central @ Shotwell Stadium, 9/25-CONCHO VALLEY/BIG COUNTRY SMACKDOWN

Long time to talk about this one with the LSWC bye coming up for everyone. Should be a great game. Abilene is the real deal and played SLC better than the score indicated. Central has pasted the patsies but only squeaked by the decent teams they played so have plenty to prove. Eagles have to be hungry for cat meat after losing two straight in the series, while the Bobcats are looking to start district with a win on their quest for a district 3-peat.

91st meeting between these two programs. Abilene leads the series 43-42-5.

I usually go through Tuscola, Winters, Ballinger, and Miles when heading to San Angelo, and of course vice versa there to here.

Since it was mentioned in this video, I'll mention that all the undefeated non-district stuff being thrown out by local media is wrong. I think it started because after the game the beat writer immediately tweeted that it was the first 5-0 non-district since 1956. Well by jove, how many times does any team get a chance to even play five non-district games? Left the impression that they haven't gone undefeated before district in 60 years. Somehow they forgot about them doing it two years ago.

Question if we were to throw out the best and worst game played by each team who would be Angelo's?

Best game Cooper worst SLC in my opinion. Wanna do some statistical analysis minus the outliers.

I don't care who has played who or what the numbers are. This is "we want the Odessa vs Permian rivalry, we want the Midland vs Lee rivalry" and this is it! We have no blood kin to pummel so we take our best stuff to our nearest neighbors. The winner finishes in the top two in the district. The Bobcats want to keep the crown, the Eagles in perhaps their swan song to the LSWC want to leave with crown in hand. For right now what else could their fans want?

No disrespect to my many Eagle friends but I think the short tailed cats win in this contest.

                        That was civil wasn't it?

Switzerland for the time being. Both teams have positives. SAC has a throwing attack that kills. Abilene runs the ball well. Both have negatives. SAC defense to me gives up a lot of points. Abilene got torched against a very good passing team already. Many things to be said both good and bad for both this is just to get rolling.
                          Go Mojo!

I believe all have agreed that both teams are better than the last time these two teams faced, but how much better is each. Does the 2pt conversion work?
