In 1927, Leonard Ray and Jack Williams each rushed for two scores while Bernie McCreary rushed in from 9 yards out in a 35-0 Longview victory over Troup at Fair Park. Longview held Troup to 9 total yards on the night.
In 1938, Edgar Worsham rushed for three scores while Leo Sapp tallied two scores in a 39-20 Longview win over Athens at Lobo Stadium. Hardy Miller hauled in an 11-yard scoring reception as well.
In 1949, Henderson’s O’Neal Brightwell rushed from 31-yards out to tally the only score of the game in a 7-0 Lion win over Longview at Lobo Stadium.
In 1977, Sam Lanier, Kenny Jackson, Bobby Portley, Reno Hutchins and Melvin Lewis each scored a touchdown as Longview rolled over John Tyler, 35-0, at Lobo Stadium. The Lobos tallied 27 first downs and managed 461 total yards while holding the Lions to 168 yards on the night in the win.
In 1983, Joe Johnson rushed for three Lobo touchdowns, including a 67-yarder in the 4th quarter, as Longview knocked off Lufkin, 36-13, at Abe Martin Stadium. The Lobos rushed for 325 yards on the day.
In 1988, Michael Carroll rushed for two scores as Lufkin dominated Longview 24-6 at Lobo Stadium. Shawn Lawson’s fourth quarter score was Longview’s only points on the day, thanks to a 7 turnover day.
In 1994, Chris Butcher tallied twice as Longview rushed for 283 yards and threw for none, in a 33-15 Lobo victory over Nacodgoches at Dragon Stadium.
In 2005, despite building a 27-13 lead, 22 Rockwall points in the 4th quarter saw the Lobos trailing 35-34 with 1:16 remaining. Zach Decker saved the day with six seconds remaining as his 23-yard field goal lifted Longview a 37-35 win over the Yellowjackets.
In 2011, Eric Hawkins tallied twice, topped with Bivins Caraway, Tory White and Deontre Wilson tallying, to lift Longview to a 38-30 victory over Mesquite Horn at E.H. Handy Stadium.
In 2016, Jaylin Brown hauled in three touchdowns, while Chris Kessler kicked two field goals, Kyle Johnson recorded a safety and Ke’Undre Wilson returned a pick six to help Longview to a 49-35 victory over North Mesquite at Mesquite Memorial Stadium.
