ON THIS DATE IN LOBO HISTORY: November 27th
In 1930, Longview fell 52-0 to Gilmer at Fair Park in Longview.
In 1941, Longview defeated Gladewater at Bear Stadium, 13-0.
In 1947, Bobby Harris rushed in from 6 yards out in the first quarter before Jimmy Pakenham scored the game winning touchdown with a four yard score in the second quarter as the Lobos knocked off Gladewater, 13-7, in Bear Stadium.
In 1952, despite leading just 20-7 at halftime, the Mavericks exploded for 38 unanswered points in the second half in route to a 58-7 win over the Lobos at Lobo Stadium. The loss remains the second largest loss at home for the Lobos.
In 2004, before a crowd of over 27,000, Longview met arch rival Lufkin at Homer Bryce Stadium. Despite jumping out to a 14-0 lead, Longview saw their lead dwindle throughout the night. Lufkin trailed 21-17 heading into the 4th quarter before two Jorvorski Lane touchdowns helped the Panthers escape Nacogdoches with a 31-21 win to move onto the Region II Final. Longview turned the ball over five times on the day.
In 2010, LaDarrin Robertson tallied twice to lead the Lobos to a 24-0 win over Tomball at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. Longview’s defense forced four turnovers on the day, and held the Cougars to 146 total yards on the night.
