In non-football news CHHS softball beat Northwest 1-0 in game 3 of the series to move on to the state tournament. Grapevine baseball loses to Lubbock Cooper in the regional semifinal round.

Now on to football. Took a look at the CHHS football twitter account and somebody is doing some next level graphics. Also noticed that Heritage now has a sports performance coach on staff. Looks like with the new sheriff in town things are getting serious.

This district is more interesting than it has been in years past and its because some of the FWISD schools are actually getting competitive outside of FWISD.

Arlington Heights should be better than last year, Wyatt returns a ton and has the best QB in the district and I expect Southwest to be much improved...even North Side should be better as well

All of the above on the issues...I'd add facilities, lack of feeder porgrams, typical inner city issues....Heights is kind of the Woodrow Wilson of Ft Worth..I honestly dont think the district has a flagship school IMO

I'm very optimistic for the 2023 season for our Panthers. New hire in Strength and Conditioning position will make all programs better, Girls and Boys. Super excited for this hire. We were not in a bad place, as evidenced by results, but this puts us on a trajectory that will see immediate growth. Kudos to both GHS and CHHS for their performance in UIL Lone Star Cup https://www.uiltexas.org/lone-star-cup

Young men grow physically at an exponential rate from 14-18 and I believe we will be a force from August to December. Great kicking game, defensive mindset, and some really good offensive natural athletes will make this the year we finally get to the big show. #LFGPanthers #GrabHold

No idea what the story is, but I think this is a homerun hire. The new soccer coach also has some skins on the wall.

On to football. I think this will be a really interesting season for both GCISD schools. Heritage has a lot of talent but some holes to fill especially on defense. Where does Grapevine go? Will they still be a run first (and second and third) team or was that a one year thing?
