  • Official 23-24 5A D2 District 4-5A thread

This appears to be the way it will end up when they make it official. This is going to be a super competitive district with some of that I20 Speedway influence and the booming growth of NW Tarrant County.

    Birdville
    Colleyville Heritage
    Grapevine
    Mansfield Legacy
    Mansfield Timberview
    Saginaw
    Boswell
    Chisholm Trail

Disclaimer** I got this from another FREE site mock alignment.

GCISD with the Mansfield Schools? Weird. I'm guessing Richland is projected to move up to 6A?

Looks about right but I would figure maybe Northwest and a mystery guest instead of the Mansfield schools.

If this ends up this way, it will be a lot of fun. Some of the last several year’s crowds have made me feel like I was in another state. Irving and FW schools are terrible crowd support.

Makes me wonder what the lower level games were like.

Since 5A D1 looks to be just over 100 schools, if UIL wants to have around 16 D1 districts I would guess that there will be very few 8 team districts.
Took a look, and with Northwest ending up D2, here is my guess.

                    Birdville
                    Colleyville Heritage
                    Grapevine
                    Azle
                    Saginaw
                    Boswell
                    Chisholm Trail

The Mansfield schools end up with Crowley, Cleburne, South Hills, and Arlington Heights.

Of course, in their infinite wisdom, the UIL could also send GCISD east with Carrollton schools and Little Elm.

That’s what I initially thought, but I really don’t see any holes in his proposition

Don't see any holes, but could just as easily see the Mansfield schools in an 8 team district with south Fort Worth and Cooper, and Azle moving to the northeast Tarrant group for a 7 team district.

that would be interesting......the kid that transferred from Weatherford will be eligible for Azle.....or is it the other way around? from Azle to Weatherford?

Looked at this again, and how about another wild scenario?

                            Creekview
                            R.L. Turner
                            Newman Smith
                            The Colony
                            Colleyville Heritage
                            Grapevine
                            Birdville
                            Highland Park

Denton schools and Little Elm slot in with Saginaw district and Mansfield schools go south. Not likely, but the UIL works in strange ways (see GCISD in a district with Fort Worth the last two years).

How long will it take to get to Mansfield's football stadium from McCain/Colleyville BLVD on a Friday night? Does that guy have a 6A projection also?
